My wife and I recently attended St Mary's Church, Cerne Abbas for a funeral.
We were extremely impressed with the architecture and history of this very beautiful building.

This is a wonderful church in a very beautiful village. It is host to the Cerne Abbas Music Festival, a truly brilliant series of annual concerts with musicians from world-famous orchestras. I would absolutely recommend visiting the church, village and festival!

The Cerne Abbas Parish Church of St Mary The Virgin dates from the early 14th Century and is in the diocese of Salisbury. The tower is constructed of Hamstone, which glows an incredible golden colour in the afternoon sun. This Church has numerous interesting features & artefacts, which are excellently documented, so well worth a visit.

Says open everyday so we traveled 35 miles to visit and of course it was closed even at mid day. If you can’t be bothered to open then please change your message to only open when we feel like it. What a waste of time.

What a lovely, atmospheric place, a beautiful church with a special public garden attached, well tended and stocked, well worth a wander around, especially in summer. There is a whole load of history in the village, with the Abbey ruins a stone's throw away. The road on which the church sits is the original main street and lined with half timbered Tudor buildings. Inside tge church is a series of presentations on the abbey and village. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
